I. Introduction to resin

Ternary LH-101 is a non-polar polymer with a styrene skeleton, which has a wide range of applications and strong adsorption capacity for weakly polar organic compounds. It is especially good at separating saponins and flavonoids, such as ginseng saponins, Panax notoginseng saponins, Dioscorea saponins, and ginkgo flavonoids.

3. Resin pollution and treatment methods

1. After the resin is contaminated by microorganisms, it can be re-pre-treated or soaked in sodium hypochlorite solution less than 0.5% and washed with water.

2. When it dries out, it can be soaked in ethanol and washed with water.

3. When the resin is contaminated by iron, it can be treated with 4~10% hydrochloric acid solution.

4. When the resin is contaminated by organic matter, it can be soaked in a mixture of 2% NaOH + 10% NaCl salt and alkali solution.

 

4. Service life of resin

The effective service life of resins mainly depends on their pore structure (pore size and specific surface area), copolymers (i.e., the framework), and whether there are significant changes in shape. These changes are related to usage conditions, such as the presence of oxidizers in the feed solution which can cause the resin framework to break, suspended solids to clog pores, or excessive pressure differences at the inlet and outlet of the resin bed leading to significant stress and fragmentation of the resin. Based on user experience, for single-component adsorption separation, the resin's service life is 3 to 5 years; for mixed-component adsorption separation, the resin's service life is 1 to 2 years.
